DIY: Lip Scrub

This DIY is so simple and cheap, and the end result is a bit like the lip scrubs you get in lush for £5.25.
  1. Mix 3 teaspoons of granulated sugar and 1 tablespoon of oil (I used sunflower oil)
  2. Mix in about one drop of red food colouring (add as much or as little depending on what colour you want)
  3. Put it into your pot, and it is ready to use!

What's in my bag

I love seeing other peoples 'what's in my bag' posts so i really wanted to do one myself. My bag is from Primark and i got it about a year ago. It was only about £12 and it still hasn't broken which is suprising! I don't carry any thing out of the usual, just a few essentials.

Review: Kleenex Shine Absorbing Sheets

I have heard a lot of good things about these shine absorbing sheets from kleenex, so i really wanted to try them for myself. I was going to buy some from the shops, but it turned out my mum had a sample of them which she said she wasn't going to use. They are usually £2.99 for 50 sheets which in my opinion is a bargain!

They packaging is really cute. They come in a simple cardboard pack which is great for just chucking in your bag. There is a little sticker on the inside of the lid, so when you open the packet one of the sheets sticks to it. This feature is so simple, yet so handy as you don't have to touch all of the other sheets to get one out and there is no faffing about.

The sheets are powder free and are like really thin pieces of paper. They are plain purple on one side and the other side is patterned.

I found that they absorbed most of the shine/oil from my face and they didn't disturb my make-up like it claims which is a bonus! I would defiantly recommend these to people who get a bit oily as they are great for a quick touch up!

NOTD: Barry M Grey

I brought this nail polish from the clothes show last weekend so you may have seen it in my last post. I have been wanting a grey nail polish for a while now, but all of the ones i could find were too light. However for me, this one by Barry M is just perfect!

I have had it on my nails for the last 3 days and it is yet to chip which is great! The consistency is pretty good, other than it is slightly on the thick side. It looks best if you apply two coats, and then a top coat on top to finish it off

Overall I really like this nail polish and will defiantly be wearing it again soon!

Review: Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream

I have wanted to dry a bb cream since i first heard all of the hype about them back in the summer. At the moment i am trying to improve my skin so i thought a bb cream would be better for it than foundation. I picked this one up by maybelline a few weeks ago when there was an offer on all maybelline products.

I got it in light and it matched my skin tone quite well. It blends into my skin really easily and it doesn't look cakey which foundation sometimes does. This product does give me a really nice glow and makes my skin look nice and healthy. Not only this, but it also made my skin feel really nourished. It claims to 'blur imperfections' but i disagree with this as it gave me very little coverage. I also use powder after applying it as i get very shiny skin.

Overall, i think this product is perfect for people who already have good skin but just need to brighten it up a  bit. However it isn't really right for me as i need more coverage than this bb cream can give me.

Have you tried this bb cream? What do you think of it?

Products i've used up

Almond hand & nail cream: I'm not sure about this hand cream. I really like the consistency as not too thick which makes it easy to distribute and soaks into your skin quickly. It also leaves them feeling really soft. However I disliked the almond smell and it was very of putting.

Superdrug dry shampoo: This was the first dry shampoo i have tried and it was a bit different than i expected. I assumed it would make it less greasy but it didn't really make much different, however it is great for if you just want to freshen up your hair. I really like the fragrance of this one and it comes out clear so you can't see it. The smell stays in for a few hours and it helps to add volume.

Garnier summer body: This was the also the first gradual moisturiser self tanner i had ever tried, and i was very impressed with it.  It smells really yummy and not only is it great for tanning, it is also very moisturising.

V05 heat protect: I have tried lots of different hair protectant products and this is probably one of my favorites  It has a really nice fragrance and it always left my hair soft, shiny and removed most of the flyaways. It seemed to minimize damage from straightening my hair as i now don't have as many slip ends and it doesn't seem as dry.

Simple light moisturiser: I have been using this moisturizer for so long now and it has finally run out.  One of my favorite things about it is that it has no scent at all which is great if you have sensitive skin, it also doesn't contain mineral oil so it is good if you are looking for an oil free product. The moisturizer absorbs almost instantly leaving your face feeling soft without being oily. I would defiantly recommend it!

Christmas presents for under £10

Why go out and spend all your money of expensive christmas presents when you can get equally as nice ones for under £10? I have found 5 of the best gifts for under £10 (in my opinion). They would all be perfect for a present for your friend!

1. Hot chocolate set- £8

Like most other people, i love nothing more than to sit with a big mug of hot chocolate in the winter. And i think this set is so cute! It comes with with hot chocolate powder, mini mallows and a wooden spoon.

2. Sweet christmas- £6.96

You can't really go wrong with a set from lush. This one includes 'rock star soap' and 'candy mountain bubble bar' which are two of my favorites. The box is really cute too!

3. Colour unlimited nail effects- £9.99

This is great for anyone who enjoys painting their nails. Unlike other sets, this one has different types of nail varnish  (2 standard, 2 glitter, and 2 magetic).

4. Snowflake print slippers- £8

These slippers look so cosy, and they are a great price. I especially love the design as they look very 'wintery'. I might just have to go and buy some for myself!

5.Soap and glory sationalism gift set- £8.50

I absolutely adore the soap and glory sprays. These ones are slightly smaller than the full sized ones, but this means you can try them all out. It's also a really good price.

3. Mix them together using a tooth pick or the other end of the make up brush

Monthly favourite: Geek t shirt

I have seen so many people wearing this geek tee from topshop, but I understand why. I am absolutely in love with over sized t shirts at the moment. You can wear it with so much, i think it looks great tucked into high waisted shorts! Like I said, I'm a sucker for over sized t shirts, however this one it a it too big and the smallest size is a small/ medium which is VERY over sized for me. However,  I still like it because I can wear it tucked in, but if I wear it over jeans it doesn't look quite right. It is also available in navy blue (however I think both are sold out). Overall it is probably one of my favorite t shirts.
